Programme to include works by Haydn and Dvorak
The Larisa Trio was formed in 2016 in Manchester with all members currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. Since then, various successes have included performing as part of the Monday Recital Series at the RNCM, as well as reaching the final of the On Stage classical music competition and the RNCM Weil Prize. They receive coaching regularly from Trio Gaspard and Jeremy Young, as well as Petr Prause, Donald Grant, Levon Chilingirian and Stefano Canuti. The Larisa Trio continually search for new inspiration, regularly working with composers across the country. They have recently been invited to premiere six new works for the Norfolk Composers Group, including a new trio by Michael Finnissy, which has been dedicated to the ensemble.
As well as giving classical concerts nationwide, contemporary collaboration across the arts is an integral part of the trio’s ethos. Upcoming events include working with Excessive Human Collective, a contemporary dance group, culminating in various performances across the northwest. The trio are supported by the RNCM Entrepreneurship Award which has funded this project.
